As the others have said, I too would really question why the dealer feels the need to change the head gasket. Yes this could be a costly repair not because it is difficult but because it is time consuming. I agree with the others, more than likely it is the seal problem and can be solved by gasket seal or replacing the plug altogether. I am doing this very job myself actually, as soon as this east coast rain festival is over! Good luck!
